All Maseratis rust – the question is when, not if. Discover the critical danger zones, why prevention only works if caught early, and how Emblem treats corrosion before it’s too late.

The Uncomfortable Truth: Every Maserati Will Rust

At Emblem, we’ve yet to see a Maserati that doesn’t suffer from corrosion. As Myles puts it:

"Rust isn’t a ‘maybe’ – it’s a guarantee. The best we can do is catch it early because no amount of wax or coating can reverse damage that’s already started."

The Critical Danger Zones (Check These NOW)

These areas always rot first – some in ways you can’t see until it’s too late:

  1. Subframe (Front & Rear)

    • Why? Water + Structural stress + road salt = hidden corrosion.

    • Nightmare Scenario: A crumbling subframe can total your car.

  2. Underbody Plates (Rotting From Inside Out)

    • Deceptive Danger: Looks solid until you poke a screwdriver through.

  3. Suspension Components

    • Anti-roll bars, springs, and control arms – again, water and salt eats them alive.

  4. Rear Differential Carrier

    • Silent Killer: Fails catastrophically when rust weakens mounts.

  5. Headlamp Panels

    • Unexpected Weak Point: Even here, corrosion takes hold.

Why "Just Coating It" Doesn’t Work

A common misconception:

  • "If I waxoyl it, I’m safe." False.

  • Rust is like cancer – if it’s already there, sealing it just traps moisture and accelerates decay.

Emblem’s Corrosion Treatment Process

For the two Maseratis currently in our workshop:

  1. Strip all underbody covers

  2. Sandblast affected areas

  3. Cut & Weld where necessary

  4. Rust Converter (Kills remaining traces)

  5. Lanoguard + Dinitrol (Triple-layer defense)
