“The winner of the Champions Class A is………………….. the 275 GTS of Clive Bate”
WOW!!!
For a second year the 1965 car prepared by Emblem Sports Cars and its partners won its class. There was huge emotion from Clive as the 275 was moved into the winners’ enclosure together with a distinguished group of other class winners. Then the team of final judges, headed by Tony Willis of Ferrari Classiche and including Keith Bleumel one of the world’s leading authorities on Ferrari and a member of the judging panel at Pebble Beach, carefully inspected each of the finalists for Car of the Show. Then those famous words from Peter Everingham, Club Secretary “The Car of the Show is…………………… (heart pounding, would we? No, we couldn’t – could we? The competition was very strong, great cars, wonderfully prepared, white Dino, black 275 GTB4, Enzo – oh so many)………

What a display of cars. 60+ in total Fabulous Ferrari’s and Magic Maserati’s. What a great venue! What awesome support from over 300 guests! What great static displays from Cessna, Hydrex, Ribcraft and Sunseeker. What wonderful aerobatics from Royal Navy Black Cats, a Starduster, a Tiger Moth, a Twister, and the Yakovlev display team and of course that sound of the Grace Spitfire as Carolyn weaved around the sky in front of us!!! (Pardon the enthusiasm – we liked that!!)

Are you aware that when replacing the clutch on the 4200, the clutch pack requires balancing on the car in order to eliminate any unnecessary vibration? The Maserati 3200 GTA prop shaft can also be balanced on the car in order to eliminate high speed vibration.
