Ferrari 275 GTS Restoration
It crept up on us - a two and a half year project! At last the list was ticked off, the snagging issues suddenly solved. It was as if we had won. The demons in the car had gone away and persistence and devotion to detail had won the day. Waiting for a break in the weather was the next challenge. Unbelievably we've seen the heaviest deluge of rain in June for years. Flooding in the Midlands, loss of life. As if the car did not want to leave it's palls in the workshop to lead a solitary life in the garage at home. Come on young lady, time to go home!
At the first glimpse of the sun, a short drive home. Fantastic! Over the moon - no, Venus or Saturn even. She was like a new car - light and responsive, with surging power and a distinguished growl and a wonderful smell of new leather in the interior. No longer a dull dashboard or flickering headlights in the evening air, the new wiring loom giving glowing dials and a strong beam from replacement lights. What a joy these cars were when new - a rare and privileged experience well worth the cost, effort, sweat and (sometimes) the tears.
Next are the concourse events. The Ferrari Owners Club National, cancelled due to flooding and re-scheduled, Autoglym in July followed by Auto Italia in August.
